Topics for DAWG April 10, 2012
1. translation of CEC area-forecasts into load bus projections in power flow model base cases
See pp. 19-22 of http://www.caiso.com/Documents/2012-2013ISOTransmissionPlanningProcessDraftStudyPlan.pdf for the best written description I have seen yet for how this works in each IOU/PTO, but still lots of details are let unknown especially for SCE and SDG&E
2. local capacity studies that create requirements that LSE have to satisfy on a year-ajead basis
See pp. 18-20 of http://www.caiso.com/Documents/Final2012LCTStudyReportApr29_2011.pdf for a description of how CEc load forecasts are used to determine local capacity requirements
3. taking incremental energy efficiency savings estimates into account in determining long-term local capacity requirements
See pp. 254-255 of http://www.caiso.com/Documents/Draft2011_2012TransmissionPlan.pdf for a very abbreviated description of the impact of such EE savings. Have to read back and compare to other studies with higher load assumptions to discern the relative impacts.
4. Translating area-wide Inc-Unc savings into load reductions at individual busses
See the attached paper to this email. I have omitted the attachment/appendix since there are unresolved claims about confidentiality of the data used to develop the impacts, and thus the impacts themselves.
